Our friendship with INBAL started last year so you can imagine how excited we are to introduce a new single “We Just Said It All” followed by a music video.
The song made a debut at number sixteen on the Indie Top 39 last week and we decided to talk to INBAL about her journey until the song was released.
Tell us about your journey up until the release of your new track?
I was born and raised in sunny Tel Aviv and moved to London about 6 years ago to follow the music. It felt like the right thing to do if I wanted to take my passion to the next level, and I absolutely fell in love with the city and its people. I released my 1st EP last September, and I?m now currently working on my second EP, which is a lot of fun so far! The experience of writing the 1st EP was quite different from writing the current one; this time, the writing, composing and production are much more collaborative in nature, and I?m very lucky to be working with some very talented people. I?m really enjoying writing tunes in a somewhat more Alt-Pop style nowadays and think it?s a genre that lets you take yourself a bit less seriously.
INBAL I became INBAL on Spotify. What happened?
After the release of my first EP, I felt that I needed a change. It was a process of a few good months of playing with my band and shifting slightly towards the more mainstream pop genre made me realise my new music is quite far from what I?ve created before. That?s why I felt a clean slate on Spotify would make more sense. My new single and the music I?m planning to release will be found under the INBAL profile, whereas my first EP songs can be found on the INBAL I page.
What was the inspiration behind the video and the song?
The idea was mainly to convey the relaxed and more ordinary day to day life of a loving couple. We shot most of the scenes near Tel Aviv; the rest was shot in London just near my home, to try to keep the warm feeling of just being happy and in my normal, familiar and relaxed environment
What was the biggest challenge during the shoot?
The wind. We kept a few windy scenes in, but there?s so much more footage we couldn?t use as the wind was so bad it kept messing around!
Is there any story related to the song?
I think it?s mostly driven by the understanding that although no relationship is perfect, it is an individual choice to focus on the positive sides and learn to move on!
If you’d need to select a quote to summarize the song what would that be?
I can think of a thousand reasons but no one compares to you
