JAMES BEAU BARCLAY creates catchy bedroom indie soul songs with hints of jazz, skilled guitar playing and tight harmonies. His sound can be compared to the upbeat yet melancholy songs of Rex Orange County and Yellow Days.
James grew up in Bristol and started playing the guitar at the age of 9, he developed a real passion for music through songwriting. He found the songwriting process incredibly cathartic helping him digest life’s traumas. Now residing in London he works part-time as a designer/illustrator spending the rest of his time pursuing a career in music. James’ has an impressive array of songs and collaborations released previously. James has previously released songs with Modern Filth, Play it Louder and Mostly Strings, and has been noticed by Sony Music and Mahogany Creative. He released his debut EP with White Bedroom Records but is now working independently.
