We thought we’d round up the week with something a little different. Something a little edgy. But as always, something extremely unique and special. ‘Snob’ is the brand new release from Italian-based duo WhyNotFrank, and it truly is a sonic rollercoaster from start to finish. Chris D’Eramo and Asia Angelozzi make up WhyNotFrank, and in less than two and a half minutes, the pair have created a powerful, energetic, and anthemic little tune that instantly gets stuck in your head. It’s over before you know it and you’re not quite sure what just hit you, but you know it was good!
‘Snob’ deals with the value of being yourself, and the importance of staying true to who you really are. “Being unique is fucking beautiful!” says the duo. We at Indie Top 39 couldn’t agree more, and all we can do is thank WhyNotFrank for the cracking tune and the valuable message!
A sonic rollercoaster of epic proportions, ‘Snob’ is a powerful and anthemic tune that hits all the right notes!
INDIE TOP 39
What does the song mean to you?
‘Snob’ for us represents the importance of being different, the beauty in feeling unique. Inevitably being different leads to intrusive and unwanted judgments and comments, but when it happens, you know that you are living your life the way you want to, being yourself. Let’s turn this into something positive, being unique is fucking beautiful and then… it doesn’t matter if good or bad, provided that people talk about it.
What do you hope to achieve with this song?
This song is about us and certainly about many others who feel the same way. When we start working on a song, we don’t set a goal, we do it because it is necessary for us to feel good, but in this case, it would make us happy to share this message, especially with those who feel uncomfortable about feeling different from others and make them understand that differences make us unique and they should be proud of that.
What inspired you to share the song with the world?
What drives us to share our music with the world is that we need music to communicate with others, words are not enough for us, whether it is futile or important, we often cannot really get across how we feel, when we play it is immediately clearer. Sometimes it doesn’t even matter that people understand the lyrics, the music is enough.
Tell us about your creative process and how the song came to be.
Our creative process was so natural right from the start, that it made us realize that maybe we should start working together. In most cases the songs come from improvisations, often guitar and vocals, we realized over time that we have strong chemistry during the ideation of a song and that we can follow each other without knowing what the other will do.
