‘Skin’ is the brand new thumping single from New Zealand-based alternative rockers Voodoo Bloo. Serving as the first of four singles from their upcoming album, the band are keen to showcase their newfound musical range and sound. ‘Skin’ is somewhat of a departure from their punk-rock driven debut album, but still maintains elements of the band’s roots scattered throughout the track. There’s a slow and steady build-up to the song’s ultimate crescendo – but when there, the rockers simply let loose, and you can’t help but bang your head along!
Voodoo Bloo are inspired by a wide variety of acts – Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, King Crimson, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard – just to name a few. The beauty of ‘Skin’ is that, whilst you hear sprinklings of these influences throughout, the track is 100% original and uniquely Voodoo Bloo. We at Indie Top 39 can’t wait for their next few singles!
‘Skin’ is a cracking, energetic, and stadium-ready tune. Play it loudly and let yourself go!

Rory: Maybe not a Netflix title necessarily, but I’d love to see this song in any Safdie brothers movie.
When did you realise that music is what you wanted to do?
Rory: My first memory of life was watching the music video for Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers and I guess it’s been from that point onwards.
Please finish the sentence – Music to me…
