‘Fade Away’ is the extraordinary new single from Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter, keyboardist, and producer Vickie Davies. Serving as the follow-up to her previous release, ‘Essence Of You’, ‘Fade Away’ was recorded in the musician’s home studio, and sees Davies getting deeply personal and honest about her struggles with depression and self-deprecation. “I wrote ‘Fade Away’ on the days I felt like getting up,” she candidly states. “Writing this song helped me work through my depression.” Blending elements of R&B, jazz, classical, and soul sounds, the instrumentals are haunting and melancholic, and serve as the perfect vehicle for Vickie’s smooth, heartfelt, and impassioned vocals. You can genuinely hear the pain in the artist’s voice, and at times, ‘Fade Away’ can be quite a “difficult” song to actually listen to. We at Indie Top 39 think that’s what makes it so special, and simply thank Vickie Davies for this incredible tune.
Moving, haunting, and melancholic, yet also beautiful, brave, and extremely honest, ‘Fade Away’ is simply a phenomenal track!

‘Fade Away’ is about depression and the self-deprecating thoughts that fill our minds daily. We sometimes suffer quietly and never reach out for help until it’s too late. I wanted to share ‘Fade Away’ to help someone articulate what they’re feeling inside hopefully.
What are your favourite lyrics in the song?
“You try to hold me, and I keep pulling away. I’m crying inside. I’m dying inside.”
What would your life be like without music?
My life would be unbearable without music. I need music in my life to keep me going sometimes.
Usually, we’d provide you with links to Vickie Davies’ social media accounts. Davies, however, removed herself from social media for her mental health. We at Indie Top 39 think it’s a brave decision, and wish her everything of the best going forward.
