London-based four-piece Tiyto recently unleashed their sophomore single ‘Changing Face’, and it showcases a band maturing and honing in on their unique and characteristic sound. Blending elements of atmospheric rock with deep electronics, Tiyto even manage to throw a pinch of R&B stylings into the mix, all culminating in a track that will undoubtedly have you on your feet in no time! I’m not going to lie – ‘Changing Face’ is a tough tune to pin down genre-wise, but I think that’s why we at Indie Top 39 love it so much!
Drawing on inspiration from the likes of The Neighbourhood and DJ Mustard, Tiyto have only gone and written the feel-good tune of the summer! Upbeat and scintillating, ‘Changing Face’ has something in it for everyone. The band are proud to announce their debut London show at the Amersham Arms on the 9th of July, so if you’re lucky enough to be that side, don’t miss out on seeing them in action!
‘Changing Face’ is the feel-good tune of the summer! Upbeat, atmospheric, brilliant!
INDIE TOP 39
What does the song mean to you?
Stu: This is our second release from our new project Tiyto. The song mixes atmospheric rock with electronic and R&B stylings – with inspirations from The Neighborhood and DJ Mustard. These are two of our big influences, so we were really happy to be able to integrate the styles into one track. We wanted to create a more upbeat song for our second release and we think this could be a great feel-good song. Yet, we still wanted to include minor notes and elements of sadness in the production.
Who do you hope the song resonates with the most?
Jake: Everyone! I don’t think we are writing music for any particular person. We all listen to such a wide range of styles and don’t want to pigeonhole anybody. If our music resonates with you then that’s the perfect scenario for us.
Which Netflix series or movie would you like your music to be featured in?
Max: Not a Netflix show but a recent series some of us have enjoyed is Euphoria. It’s a really great dark character drama with a diverse soundtrack. It makes such a big impact on a series or movie when the soundtrack is carefully curated and scored. It would be incredible to have a track used that way in the future.
What do you want to achieve in the next 12 months with your music?
Rob: I’d like to say quitting my day job but that might be ambitious. I guess the most important thing for us now is to grow our following. We have all this music so we want to share it with as many people as possible. I guess there isn’t a magic formula for this. We will just keep writing, releasing and playing shows.
