This is what we at Indie Top 39 like to call a double-whammy! A classic indie-rock tune to get your weekend off to the perfect start. And it’s a debut! ‘Live Forever’ is the very first track from Stockholm-based quartet The Vapour Veils, a band whose individual members each have an impressive studio and touring repertoire behind them. The tune is, as mentioned, a true indie-rock classic in every sense. Melodic guitar riffs, energetic drums, catchy basslines, and exceptional vocal performances from Magnus Haderborg and backup, all culminate in a sound that is just too infectious and upbeat to ignore.
The Vapour Veils will be following up ‘Live Forever’ with ‘I Am Human And I Need To Be Loved’, which will be released sometime next month. The even more exciting news, however, is that their debut album will be out just a month afterwards! We simply cannot wait to hear more from this skilful outfit!

What does the song mean to you?
‘Live Forever’ tells the story of feeling free, of living your life at night with lady luck always smiling at you. About friendship and spending all your money on having a good time ’cause you’ll never afford to buy a home of your own in this town anyway. What it means to be young I suppose.
Tell us about your creative process and how the song came to be.
Magnus: I wrote ‘Live Forever’ in about 10 minutes early one Sunday morning, still high on life from last night’s adventures. Songs normally come to me early in the morning. The words and music come at the same time and then I make a home demo which I share with the rest of the band.
Who do you hope the song resonates with the most?
We want to reach out to anyone who has ever felt this way. I guess our songs also work as some kind of reflection process of things we’ve been through. That goes for all of our songs. They are songs about us, about real people who experience real life. I guess you could call them a soundtrack of our lives.
What are your favourite lyrics in the song?
”I’m out of my game and you’re out of my league, but you smile at me with all your perfect teeth…” It sums up the song in a way. The feeling of not caring or thinking too much about things, just being on a roll and going with it.
