The Hillties are a six-piece alternative, indie-rock act hailing from British Columbia in Canada, and they’ve just released their laid-back and heartfelt new tune, ‘Tell Your Friends’. Serving as the follow-up to their previous hit ‘Diablo’, ‘Tell Your Friends’ is an introspective, contemplative little number that takes you on an unbelievable sonic journey. Starting off superbly mellow and almost soulful, the track slowly increases in energy and vigour, until eventually reaching its spellbindingly powerful crescendo. A shout-out has to be made to guitarist Sam Mathews, who puts in a captivating performance and holds the tune together expertly.
A song that serves as “a commentary on modern life,” according to lead vocalist Mark Barnard, ‘Tell Your Friends’ sends out a beautiful message about not accepting mediocrity, and striving to create the life you truly desire. With plans to release a second album sometime next year, we at Indie Top 39 will be the first to let you know when it drops!
