‘I Am Falling’ is the scintillating new single from the Irish-based dynamic and lively five-piece act The Frisky Gypsys. Following hot on the heels of their previous release ‘Born To Believe’, ‘I Am Falling’ effortlessly continues in the same groovy, high-energy fashion that the band have become known for. Twangy guitar work, bopping drums, and one of the catchiest choruses you’ll ever hear are all on full display, as The Frisky Gypsys showcase their more mature and well-rounded soundscape.
The band credit legendary Irish producer Gavin Glass for having shaped this more developed sound, and it’s a sound that we at Indie Top 39 are unbelievably excited about going forward! After just a few listens to ‘I Am Falling’, certain elements of the track just get stuck in your head in the warmest and most comforting way. And at the end of the day, what more could one ask for in a song? We thank you, The Frisky Gypsys!
It’s just so damn catchy! ‘I Am Falling’ is another smashing track from an outfit that we’re really digging at the moment!
INDIE TOP 39
What does the song mean to you?
Steven Hamilton: ‘I Am Falling’ is a brand new track written by myself. This is a song very close to my heart and comes from a point in my life when I was feeling at rock bottom, a false sense of self, and a huge change happening in my life and all around me.
What does success mean to you?
Steven Hamilton: For me success is pretty simple. If one person likes a song I wrote it’s a success. Actually if I like a song I wrote it’s a success. I would have to say it changes constantly. At first it was just to perform in front of people, then it was to play a gig, then a bigger gig, then a festival, then tour and so on. So, I would have to say, it changes all the time. But like I said, if I write a song and I like it then that’s a success. Small victories.
What would your life be like without music?
Steven Hamilton: I couldn’t imagine my life without music is the simple answer. I only started to play in my early 20s so I’m still relatively new to this. A lot of people play their whole lives. I picked up a guitar in my 20s and started playing and already it’s taking me on the some of the best journeys of my life.
Please finish the sentence – Music to me is…
Steven Hamilton: All about bringing people together, having shared experiences, and enjoying jamming songs with your friends in a in a crammed sitting room or performing on a big stage at a festival. The whole process from start to finish, from just an idea in your head, to the studio, to playing it live is all amazing.
