‘Waiting For An Answer’ is the newly released single from Sydney-based songwriter Sun Affair. Wesley Stormer, the brains behind Sun Affair, enlisted the help of producer Tim Coggins and rising country music vocalist Blake Daniter to create the warm, rich, and nostalgia-filled tune. As the follow-up to ‘Lend Myself,’ ‘Waiting For An Answer’ shows a songwriter and creative who’s super comfortable with his overall soundscape and knows exactly what he wants to get out of the up-and-coming artists he works with. Daniter’s vocal performance deserves a special shout-out as well, with his smooth and soulful crooning. Stormer said that he was listening to a lot of Elton John and Billy Joel at the time ‘Waiting For An Answer’ was written. “I wanted to write a real piano-driven, feel-good tune,” said the songwriter. We at Indie Top 39 think he absolutely nailed it!
Full of warmth and nostalgia, the beautifully layered ‘Waiting For An Answer’ is an instant hit.

What does the song mean to you?
‘Waiting For An Answer’ represents a time in my life when I was in limbo and unaware of what was on the horizon. It’s about acknowledging those times when we don’t what to do in life.
Tell us about your creative process and how the song came to be?
My usual process is to sit at a piano and play until I come up with a golden melody or chord progression. From there I work out the structure and the essence of the song. ‘Waiting For An Answer’ was written a few years ago when I had just moved back into my family home and was reflecting on where I was at in life.
What do you want to achieve in the next 12 months with your music?
I’m currently in lockdown in Sydney, Australia so I’m hoping that over the next 12 months I can gig with Sun Affair. We’ve never had a proper gig so I’m very keen to play these songs out in the wild!
What does success mean to you?
Success to me would be me playing these songs with my friends to an energetic crowd who are singing and dancing along!
