Stephen James Orr is a multi-instrumentalist and producer who hails from Canada. On his dreamy, brand new single ‘Losing Time’, Orr enlists the help of his longtime collaborator Michelle Challice on vocals, and she adds a soulful, smooth, and inviting vibe to the tune. The hook-heavy, indie-rock track starts off mellow, with delicate synths and a rich bassline, and quietly builds itself up along the way. Some seriously impressive guitar work from Orr is undeniably a stand-out attraction on ‘Losing Time’, as the musician showcases an unbelievable ability to bounce between hazy, smokey riffs and face-melting guitar solos in the blink of an eye. Citing acts like Jamila Woods, Hiatus Kaiyote, Anderson Paak, Phony Ppl, and Massive Attack as being more recent influences on his sound, Stephen James Orr is certainly a name worth keeping an eye (and an ear on)!
Dreamy, rich, soulful. Yet also rocky, melodic, and edgy. ‘Losing Time’ simply has it all!
