‘Here To Stay’ is the hazy and electrifying new release from seventeen-year-old Tennessee-based indie sensation Whitt Sabin, more popularly known by his alias Son.Person. A modern love story that is energetically told in under two and a half minutes, ‘Here To Stay’ is truly a sonic rollercoaster of epic proportions. You don’t quite know what just hit you when the song finishes, but you know that it felt good! And, vocally, the young musician puts in a performance that displays a maturity well beyond his years. Overall, it’s simply a smashing little tune that we can’t get enough of at Indie Top 39!
Believe it or not, Son.Person has actually been performing music all over the United States for the past ten years! With hopes of being a major proponent in unifying the Memphis scene, as well as bringing attention to the diversity of the city, you’ll certainly be hearing more from Son.Person very soon!
“Love me, kiss me, hold me closely, let me know you’re here to stay”. All day. On repeat. End of story!

What does the song mean to you?
On the first listen, ‘Here To Stay’ is a simple ode to the girl I want to call my own. Yet, the painful expressions throughout the single highlight the heavy dependency on others which I struggle with.
Tell us about your creative process and how the song came to be.
Relationship issues and a lot of them. I was just going through it as most others would and at this point, found someone I truly thought would be forever. Some people don’t believe that experience equals the best possible music, but I disagree. The reality behind the sound is crucial for true relatability.
When did you realise that music is what you wanted to do?
I started singing when I was 3, but I truly took a big step in saying this is what I wanted to do above all else 4 years ago. I’m now 17, and I hope to make this a life-long, ever-growing journey.
