‘Longer Now’ is the incredible new tune from up and coming Manchester based singer/songwriter, George Mills. The acoustically driven track was penned for a close friend of Mills’ who’s going through a really hard time. What the musician is able to somehow pull off though, is turning his message into a positive, motivational and even upbeat one. “Maybe you don’t care but justify us,” pleads Mills. “Never gonna know until you fight it.” Mills’ vocal performance deserves a special shout out as well, as he displays a superb control and serious vocal range. Working with award-winning producer Ben Stancombe, Mills recorded ‘Longer Now’ in Birmingham and is currently releasing his debut EP, Moments in Present Hindsight, as individual singles. Believe it or not, Mills actually wrote the main guitar riff as a jingle, one that he had planned to send away. We’re grateful he chose not to!
George Mills delivers an emotional performance and an almost pleading offering on his inspiring new single, ‘Longer Now’.

What does the song mean to you?
Although the idea started as just a catchy guitar riff, the song developed into something pretty emotional. The strong topic of the track is reflected in both the lyrics and overall sound, with everything I wanted to say within the song. While this may sound direct for the most part, these are thoughts still left unsaid, hence the creation of “Longer Now”.
What are your favourite lyrics in the song?
I really like – “Maybe you don’t care but justify it, never gonna’ know until you fight”. This is the pre chorus, and it just summarises the whole track really well.
What do you want to achieve in the next 12 months with your music?
Honestly, I just want to keep connecting with new people. Whether this is other musicians, producers or fans. I always have ideas when looking ahead, but opportunities will always appear when you grow your network and potential fan base. It’s still early days for me, but I really feel like I’m working towards something here.
