Stockton-based indie rockers, Salsola, make a triumphant return to the scene with their brand new single (and fourth release ever) ‘The Seekers’. As the follow-up to their well-received 2020 release ‘Deconstruction,’ ‘The Seekers’ maintains the band’s signature sound but brings an even more dynamic and powerful soundscape to the fore. It’s a breezy and infectious track that’s filled with catchy hooks, super sweet melodies, and the hypnotic vocals of Vicky Wright. “Don’t give up I’ll find you, if you go dark I’ll go there too,” sings Wright. “These empty words are killing you, don’t give up I’ll find you.” A song about finding one’s passion in life and avoiding upward social comparisons, ‘The Seekers’ is the perfect example of a band getting more polished and refined with every release. That’s rare, and it often points to one thing – an exciting future!
Salsola really pushed some musical boundaries on ‘The Seekers.’ And it paid off big-time!

What does the song mean to you?
It’s a song about finding your passion in life, whether that’s something or someone, and trying not to compare yourself to others. I feel like we all need a reminder of that every now and then. It’s a fun song to play live and gave us an opportunity to do something different with the arrangement.
Tell us about your creative process and how the song came to be?
Peter Wright: I spend most of me free time messing around on the guitar and playing along with the TV. Eventually a couple of chords or a riff will sound nice and I just play around with that until a melody arrives. Then it’s just a case of piecing the lyrics together, which usually takes the longest. When the bare bones of the song are there, we take it to the rehearsal room and work it out as a band until the song comes to life.
Music to me/us is…
A pleasant way to while away the hours. It’s the thing we’re all passionate about and you’re lucky if you can find something like that. Also it drowns out the silence in our lives…
