We at Indie Top 39 first discovered Melbourne-based rapper SACHA. when he dropped his powerful single ‘Heart of Stone’ a few months ago, and we’ve been following his budding career ever since. He recently returned with another cracking tune in the form of ‘Serenity’, an alternative rap concept track that pays homage to the TV series Firefly. “We watched Firefly extensively whilst we were making this,” says SACHA. “So it only made sense.”
Teaming up again with Danish producer-collective NOEGO, SACHA. has elevated his sound to new levels yet again. He just gets better and better! His lyrical prowess and silky-smooth flow are on full display and after just a couple of listens, ‘Serenity’ is hard to get out of your head. The track will form part of SACHA.’s upcoming EP, The Firefly EP, and we truly believe it’s not long now until the world starts to take notice of SACHA.

What does the song mean to you?
‘Serenity’ is an alternative rap/alternative R&B/urban pop ballad, which doubles as a concept song paying homage to the TV series Firefly. The heartfelt chorus speaks on themes of travelling the world and meeting new people, but being unable to shake the face and or memory of the one you loved. In my first verse, almost every line has some type of reference to the titles of episodes within Firefly.
Who do you hope the song resonates with the most?
Mostly I hope or imagine that this song would resonate with fellow travelers and adventurers. People who understand the highs and lows of life on the road and what it means to be free.
Which Netflix series or movie would you like your music to be featured in?
If there was ever a reboot or prequel to Serenity/Firefly it would be beyond epic to get this song featured in there. Joss Whedon: hit me up.
What do you hope to achieve in the next 12 months with your music?
I’ll be playing a lot more shows and live performances, particularly street busking. I’ll also be expanding my fan base and moving to bigger venues.
