Delving into the world of Noé Solange this past week has been an absolute delight. Her laid-back, soft electronica sound is quite mesmerising and despite the simple, pared-down lyrics and interweaving melodies, this artist’s sound is full of complexities and nuances. It was her song ‘Bound’, the title track from her latest EP that got me well and truly hooked. Beginning with bell-like, textural chimes and slow-burning synths, you enter into a light trance before the vocal coaxes you into an even deeper sense of meditation. There is beauty in simplicity, and Noé delivers this in her pure, delicate vocals which shimmer over the track. Gratifyingly dissonant harmonies allude to the musical know-how and imagination of the producer/multi-instrumentalist. The effortless style and attention to detail make for a compelling listen, I’ve had this track on repeat and it seems to reveal more and more hidden gems the more I listen. I can highly recommend listening to the full EP, but for now, get your ears around ‘Bound’ and let yourself be transported just for a moment.
