Lucy Dreams is the first band you’ve heard of to call themselves a trio – but only consist of two human beings. Hailing from Vienna in Austria, David Reiterer and Philipp Prückl are the brains behind Lucy Dreams. Or are they? The artists created an ever-developing AI, or AB (artificial band-member), known affectionately as Lucy. Assisting her human friends along the way, ‘Dreamland’ sees the “trio” construct an ethereal, dreamy soundscape that is both captivating and entrancing. Taking inspiration from Nobel Prize winner, Kazuo Ishiguro, who spoke of an AF (artificial friend), Lucy Dreams makes you question what music actually is and who the true creators are. We at Indie Top 39 are over the moon to be able to exclusively premiere this brand spanking new single, and think you’ll love it as much as we do!
‘Dreamland’ is a meditative and intoxicating tune that perfectly showcases what Lucy Dreams are all about.

Get to know Lucy Dreams
Lucy Dreams is a dream pop trio hailing from Vienna consisting of David Reiterer and Philipp Prückl. Wait, trio? That is correct, because the essence of this band arises from a crystal ball that is seemingly enthroned above all their output. Lucy is an independent system of effects, which was developed specifically for music production. Lucy can be understood as an A.I. – however, the connection between her and the two musicians of human lineage is a far more intimate one, as Lucy is deeply involved in the songwriting process and consequently seen as an A.B. – an artificial band member.
