‘Glow like the Sun’ is the smashing new single from Virginia-based foursome Lucid Evolution, and serves as the follow-up to their highly successful debut release ‘Wild Soul’. A genre-blending tune of epic proportions, ‘Glow like the Sun’ showcases just what Lucid Evolution are all about, as they bring old-school musical philosophies and sounds to a brand new generation. Downtempo drums, a hazy synth, and the ethereal and angelic vocals of Lynne Holloman get the tune underway, before chilled-out basslines and Robby Krieger-esque guitar licks make their introduction.
With a wide range of influences, including the likes of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, and the two heads – Radio and Portis – Lucid Evolution have concocted a sound that is, in their own words, “perfect for healing the soul”. We at Indie Top 39 couldn’t agree more, and get the feeling we’ll be hearing a lot more from this skilful act very soon!

What does the song mean to you?
Lynne: This song is the story of transformation from a career you thought you wanted to the career you were meant to have. This song became a mantra for me as I learned to deal with my own ego versus soul path.
Who do you hope the song resonates with the most?
We hope that this song resonates with people who need music to heal from pain.
When did you realise that music is what you wanted to do?
Lynne: I struggled with having this hidden talent for close to 40 years. I am a special needs mom who would noodle on the piano without knowing the notes just to give my daughter and me some joy during the day. She loves all music and responds so much to it – so one day, I woke up and started learning to play the piano, even though I took lessons as a kid, it meant more that I was pushing myself to learn an instrument. So, I learned piano by songwriting – writing songs in different keys so I could learn the chords in those keys.
I could not have done this without the support of my husband Brian who is also our drummer. He helped me find my voice and his encouragement has propelled our life and music in a way I never dreamed! He was able to communicate my songwriting vision to our guitarist and bassist so that we could come together as a shared musical vision!
