Stockholm-based singer/songwriter LOUUD recently released her brand new single called ‘Find An Island’, and it’s an anthemic, electro-pop smash that you need in your life right now! The song is the brainchild of Louise Udin, better known simply as LOUUD, and deals lyrically with themes of self-sabotage and escapism. Udin, however, has juxtaposed these heavy topics with an upbeat, fun, and infectious soundscape that we at Indie Top 39 just cannot get enough of! It’s her first release in three years, and though the wait was long, it was undoubtedly worth it!
LOUUD’s music has been described as “self-ironic” and honest, and you’ll find no better an example of this than on ‘Find An Island’. “(I) should find an island, build a fucking treehouse while I’m crying,” she sings. There’s just pure authenticity and sincerity in Udin’s music that is impossible to escape. And why would you even want to try?
‘Find An Island’ is the anthemic, carefree, and catchy-as-hell tune that you need to hear right now!
INDIE TOP 39
What does the song mean to you?
‘Find An Island’ means a lot to me. It’s my first single in over 3 years so it’s special. I feel that this song and the songs I have coming out in the coming months are definitely the start of a new chapter, and is authentic to me as a person and as an artist.
Who do you hope the song resonates with the most?
Anyone who’s ever struggled with self-sabotaging and blaming their problems on other people or the world instead of maybe dealing with their own issues. It’s a fun sad song that I think most people who have ever had a shitty period in their lives can relate to.
What inspired you to share the song with the world?
I wanted to share this song with the world because I resonated with it so much and I felt that this is what I want my next era as an artist to be. Writing and releasing relatable songs about sad things I’ve gone through in a quirky humoristic way.
