‘Floatin’ is yes, you guessed it, another ridiculously good debut release! I’m not quite sure what’s going on this year – but I’m certainly not complaining. Courtesy of Stockholm-based musician Linnea Awad, ‘Floatin’ is a rich, deep, electro-pop stunner that is right up our alley at Indie Top 39! Awad’s vocal performance also deserves a special mention and, in truth, was what first caught my attention when I heard the tune. She showcases exceptional range and confidence and, when you consider this is her debut, makes her future releases an extremely exciting prospect.
Later this year, Awad will continue her songwriting and production studies when she attends one of the Nordic country’s most prestigious music schools Musikmakarna. With a passion for producing other artists, Awad says that she loves “challenging myself to interpret their personality and artistry into the music”. We just hope she continues making songs of her own, and that ‘Floatin’ is only the beginning!

What does the song mean to you?
As my first single it means a lot to me because it describes my growth this past year as a producer and artist. The song really shows my development in sound and harmonies and the love I have for what I do! This is as me as it gets!

Expression, love, and being able to make other people feel something. It’s so beautiful when other people interpret your music in their own way! There’s just no right way to feel about music.
What would your life be like without music?
Really boring. I feel like passion is what makes people interesting, it gives them depth! Music gives me depth!
What do you want to achieve in the next 12 months with your music?
I want to be able to live on it so that I can put my whole soul into it.
