We’re in love with South Wales-based Kaysha Louvain. What else more can we say? Ever since we heard ‘Nobody Does It Like Me’, she’s held a rather special place in the heart of Indie Top 39. The ridiculously gifted retro-pop/country musician has just released a brand new single called ‘The Crown’, and yet again, Louvain doesn’t disappoint! It’s a cracking little tune, effortlessly melodic and featuring some seriously impressive guitar-playing from the artist herself.
‘The Crown’ sees Kaysha dealing with the experiences of growing up in a small town, where everybody knows one another. “There’s no way in, there’s no way through, I just need to burn this castle down,” she sings. “There’s no way in, no way to you, cause heavy is the head that wears the crown.” Kaysha once again showcases an incredible knack for storytelling and sucking you into her world – and in all honesty, we’re almost running out of superlatives for this wonderful musician.
‘The Crown’ is another classic tune from Kaysha. Melodic, powerful, hypnotic. This musician can do no wrong!

What does the song mean to you?
‘The Crown’ was written about my experience growing up in a small town with everyone knowing who are you. Always having to be the best you can be, to be good and honest and carrying so much of that weight. It has done so much good for the way I live and work as an adult but it wasn’t always easy as a teenager.
Which Netflix series or movie would you like your music to be featured in?
I’ve already been told the song would fit a Bond movie, and that would be amazing. I also think it would suit an episode of ‘The Crown’ on Netflix.
What are your favourite lyrics in the song?
I adore the whole chorus of ‘The Crown’ but “Heavy is the head that wears the crown” is my favourite line as it’s the most poignant in the song.
What does success mean to you?
I believe if you keep chasing success and forget to live present in the moment you’ll miss so many wonderful things. As long as I am happy in what I am achieving and producing when it comes to music then I’m on the right path. If you work hard and keep taking opportunities, everything will fall into place the way it is meant to.
