London-based avant-garde musician, Julie Hicklin, recently released ‘Dog Solitude,’ the debut track off of her upcoming EP. Deeply inspired by the soundtracks of French and Scandinavian film noir, ‘Dog Solitude’ is the perfect example of what we absolutely love at Indie Top 39 – genre-bending, experimental tunes that are simply impossible to place in a box! The ethereal and atmospheric soundscape serves as the perfect backdrop for the whispery, soul-stirring, and poignant vocals of Hicklin. Working with multi-award-winning engineer and producer Goetz Botzenhardt (Faithless, Dido, Paloma Faith,) ‘Dog Solitude’ tells an all-too-familiar tale of loneliness and yearning. Of the cruelness of unrequited love and the emotions that go along with it. Julie is no stranger to the music industry, having been in various bands throughout the years. But with her brand new solo project, she plans to transform her sound in a new and exciting direction. We’re all for it!
Haunting, ethereal, atmospheric, captivating… ‘Dog Solitude’ is a truly beautiful and cinematic tune.
