‘Missed Opportunity’ is the brand new single from UK-based singer/songwriter Jaz Kutassy, and it’s a dreamy, super catchy, and anthemic little tune. Serving as the follow-up to her previous single ‘Feel Something’, ‘Missed Opportunity’ sees Kutassy reminiscing about a past relationship, and ultimately, about the missed opportunities that pass us by when holding onto things for too long. “London, it’s 5 am, not waking up to you again,” she sings. “We figured out this is the end, but maybe we should try instead.” Kutassy again worked alongside producer RAFFER to create ‘Missed Opportunity’ and said that the track had certain production elements “inspired by artists such as Olivia Rodrigo and Jordan Mackampa.” We at Indie Top 39 have fallen pretty hard for Jaz Kutassy, and she continues to impress us with each new release! We can’t wait to hear what she does next.
Anthemic, infectious, and powerful, ‘Missed Opportunity’ is another cracking tune from Jaz Kutassy!

What does the song mean to you?
I am so proud of this song. This song helped me to process and romanticise a past relationship, in a way that it is captured within the song, so I can detach and move on in real life.
What are your favourite lyrics in the song?
“This is Tuesday night in London, drinks at your flat, you’re hoping that I’ll wait for you to call back, f*ck that.” The first time I sang this live, there was a small pause between the lines and I just heard from the audience “oh wait… that’s my flat!” as my friend (aka the subject’s flatmate) clocked onto who the song was about.
What would your life be like without music?
I think about this often, and to be honest, I don’t think it would change too much. If I wasn’t an “artist” I would still write songs, as it is a way to process the world around me without judgement and a method that I have come to rely on.
What does success mean to you?
I think levels of success vary. If I am able to continuously create music that I am proud of, then that is definitely the first (and most important) step. Right now, if I am able to find a balance between full-time work and my music, then I deem that a success and, hopefully, overtime that balance will shift. I really love being in the studio, with all my heart. If I was able to book in studio days whenever I wanted, and had the days off to write more, for both myself and other artists, I would be living the dream.
