‘Catch 22’ is the beautiful new single, and follow-up to the highly successful ‘Down’, from Nashville-based twin sisters Jordan and Madison Skinner, better known as Jaye Madison. Filled with nostalgia, warmth, and introspection, ‘Catch 22’ takes the listener on a journey back to their youth, and the feelings of anxiety and hope that engulfed us all at that age. “When you’re nineteen, the world is asking, “what are you gonna do? But it ain’t easy to know so early, and you think you’ll know in a year or two.” The song ultimately, however, offers up a beautiful message of comfort and relief for those who haven’t quite “figured it out” yet. Recorded at Revolver Studios in Los Angeles by Grammy-award winning producer Mikal Blue and Dean Dinning (Toad the Wed Sprocket), we at Indie Top 39 eagerly await the release of Jaye Madison’s upcoming debut album!
‘Catch 22’ is a charming and effortlessly cool blend of country, Americana, soft-rock, and folk. It has everything – and we’re loving it!

What does the song mean to you?
This coming-of-age song creates an introspective experience for the listener as the lyrics take you on a journey of nostalgia back to the confusion and hopefulness of early adulthood. It also acts as a sigh of relief for those in their early twenties hearing us as twenty-somethings sing about the reality of not having life figured out. ‘Catch 22’ started as a journal entry and became something much bigger to us. It’s a reminder to those in similar situations that they aren’t alone. All of us are just guessing as we go, hoping our next move is the right one.
Who do you hope the song resonates with the most?
Any human who understands the feeling of being overwhelmed by the future. It was primarily written for the young adult who is about to turn 22 wondering how they are going to make their mark on the world. It was also written for anyone who remembers that time in their lives with the knowledge of hindsight and feeling of nostalgia.
Which Netflix series or movie would you like your music to be featured in?
We would love for our music to land on Yellowstone and/or Monarch. We know those aren’t Netflix shows, but we think our sound would really mesh with them. Netflix? Love is Blind, because duh.
Please finish the sentence – Music to us is…
The soundtrack to being alive. Magic. The steady heartbeat behind every memory.
