With their fourth release of the year, Los Angeles based indie rockers, Indigo FM, are poised to make 2021 their year. First dreamed up in 2020, ‘Anhedonia’ is an expertly crafted tune, with a jangly electric guitar setting the scene. The nostalgia-filled and toasty vocals of lead singer, Esteban Obando, are introduced, as he tells a story of searching for daily meaning in a world under daily lockdown. “Another red setting sun, come morning so overdone,” sings Obando. “And everyday feels like a merry-go-round, circling over the same old piece of ground.” Indigo FM, through their unique sound and lyrical prowess, have managed to perfectly capture the feelings and emotions that so many are still living with. Influenced by the likes of The Black Keys, Weezer and Muse, ‘Indigo FM’ continue to show that they can kick it with the best of them.
Indigo FM have produced yet another superb lockdown-inspired track. ‘Anhedonia’ wonderfully encapsulates the craziness of a world living through a global pandemic.

What does ‘Anhedonia’ mean to you?
‘Anhedonia’ is a whimsical record about the search for meaning.
“Around September of 2020 when we sat down to start writing this song, deep in the throes of quarantine, I guess on some level I wanted to write about how every day is a search for meaning, especially when everyday starts to follow a very similar rhythm and you feel powerless to change it.” – Esteban Obando

Get to know Indigo FM
Indigo FM began when singer/songwriter Esteban Obando enlisted fellow berklee alum Johannes Grtischacher to record drums on a few early demos after they had both just made the move to LA after studying music in Boston. As the project began to take shape, they began playing with bassist/multi-instrumentalist and norcal native Patrick Taylor. After a few personnel changes the line-up was completed when guitarist and songwriter Connor Sullivan – who was already half of the alternative/indie pop Hopkins with Johannes being the other member – was asked to come and play a show with the band. Ever since January 2020, the band has been writing, producing and releasing music to growing acclaim.
