Hollywood Eyes are a five-piece indie-pop act based in Cheshire in the UK. They’re certainly not newcomers to the scene, and you really can tell that just by listening to their smashing new single called ‘I Hope You Find It’. Confident, catchy guitar hooks meet bouncy, upbeat drums, funky basslines, synthy goodness, and the expertly honed vocals of lead singer Ryan Pridding, all combining to produce an infectious track that you’ll struggle to get out of your head!
Lyrically, ‘I Hope You Find It’ deals with breaking away from, as the band puts it, “time-wasters and liars”, a scenario that we’ve all been faced with at one stage or another. “All the wonder whys and the butterflies don’t come alive anymore,” sings Pridding. “And all I found is everything looks different to me now.” We at Indie Top 39 can’t get enough of ‘I Hope You Find It’, and the band were even kind enough to release a fantastic music video to go along with the tune which you can check out below!
‘I Hope You Find It’ is, undoubtedly, one of the catchiest and most upbeat tracks so far this year!
INDIE TOP 39
What does the song mean to you?
The song is about making the decision to ditch the time wasters and the liars we’ve all had to endure at some stage in our lives and move on to better things.
Tell us about your creative process and how the song came to be?
The song went through many different versions before it became the version it is now but the writing process was very natural at our rehearsal room. We knew we had a catchy chorus and built the rest of it around this. We wanted to try something different to what we had done before.
What are your favourite lyrics in the song?
The second verse really stands out to us as our favourite part lyrically. It takes a different approach to the first verse with a new melody but is still familiar. Our favourite lyric is “The wonder whys and the butterflies don’t come alive anymore.”
