Far West is the musical project of Santa Cruz based synthpop artist, Ryan Settles. His brand new release, ‘Make It Up’, is a beautifully breezy, nostalgia-filled tune that will be played repeatedly on your summer road trip (trust me)! A man who wears many hats, Settles recorded all the instrumentation and also produced the track on his own. Drawing on influences from bands like Goth Babe, The 1975 and Day Wave, Far West has smartly crafted his own unique soundscape that, whilst exciting fans of the former, will appeal to an even wider audience. A song about forgetting the bad and relishing the good, ‘Make It Up’ is irresistibly uplifting and airy. I have no doubt that we’ll be hearing much more from Far West in the not too distant future!
A dreamy, poppy, breezy beauty! ‘Make It Up’ is an instant hit for Far West and I get the feeling this is just the beginning.

What does ‘Make It Up’ mean to you?
Far West music is a mix of summer and that feeling you get at the end of a coming of age movie. This song is nostalgic, poppy, and youthful and written about trying to forget the bad and relishing in the good.
Music to me is the most honest form of self-expression, and something I always feel like I’ll have and create in my life.
