‘What a Dream’ is a mesmerising and hypnotic, fresh jazz track from the wildly talented duo that is Doctor Gosso and the Samplers. I’d listened to practically 3 seconds of this track before I stopped what I was doing and surrendered to the trans like waves of piano and melting pot of jazz sounds. The key to this track and this band being so hugely accessible is their ability to seamlessly fuse together the hooks and trippy details you’d typically associate with hiphop, over the lush, ever changing pastures of contemporary jazz. There’s just enough repetition in the electric guitar riff and keys for you to delight in the embellishments and nuances that spill out of every inch of the rest of the piece.
