‘Transparent’ is the hauntingly beautiful brand new single from Leicester-based pop artist and singer/songwriter Chloe Ann. Released at the end of last year, 2021 proved to be an extremely productive year for the young musician. Serving as the follow-up to her previous release ‘Sick’, ‘Transparent’ sees the artist taking a very different musical direction. With just a piano and her sweet-sounding vocals, Ann’s performance is spellbinding and holds your attention from start to finish. A song that deals with losing someone close to you, be it from death or simply a relationship breakdown, ‘Transparent’ shows an artist who’s not afraid to be open and vulnerable. An artist who wears her heart on her sleeve for all the world to hear, and this can only stand her in good stead going forward. We at Indie Top 39 get the feeling you’ll be hearing a lot more from Chloe Ann going forward.
It’s quite remarkable what Chloe Ann has managed to achieve with just a piano and her vocals. ‘Transparent’ is everything and then some!
INDIE TOP 39
What does the song mean to you?
Going through the journey of losing someone close to you, whether that’s through a loss of life of broken down relationship. It sits very close to my heart as it delves into the feelings of loss of control and uncertainty of what the future holds without that person.
Which Netflix series or movie would you like your music to be featured in?
I would love my music to feature on shows such as Sex Education, Emily in Paris, and The Bold Type as these are the shows that I love and can relate to in many ways. TV shows like Love Island would be a great shout too as I love how they feature new/emerging artists and they get heard to such an array of different people.
What do you want to achieve in the next 12 months with your music?
I want to release A LOT more music and get signed by a record label to help give me the boost to get my name out there. 100k streams on one of my songs would be such an achievement too, I am always working to better myself and my music by reaching out to new listeners in every way that I can. I’d also love to do some more live shows as that’s where I feel my most comfortable and confident.
What does success mean to you?
The moment I stand in front of a crowd and they sing my lyrics back to me will be the definition of MY success. That moment will sit so closely to my heart as all I want out of my music is to relate to people and make them feel happiness when they are listening/singing to my songs.
