Our friendship with Akso Heart started in November 2020 when he jumped onto our IGTV live and we had a random chat. One thing led to another and now he is a core member of The Power of Indie team where we are on a mission to build the community for independent musicians.
Apart from being a social media wizard and interviewer Akso now can call himself a singer-songwriter who finally shared the very first single ‘No More’ with the world. We already featured it as one of the best songs released last week on our New Music Sunday playlist.
What gives ‘No More’ a unique edge is its wonderful sense of chemistry, which does well to reflect Akso Heart’s scientific musical composition.

The debut single from electro-pop artist Akso Heart, it truly wowed us just how layered and well-crafted this single is, both in terms of its mesmerising and luminous production, and Akso’s bewitching vocals. Having recently emerged in the world of science, and concluding his studies of Chemistry as a PhD student, this debut track serves as our first taste of Akso Heart’s creative journey, and has no trouble when it comes to finding its place as an accessible and totally engaging tune. What does ‘No More’ mean to you?
It means a lot. It’s my debut and I feel nervous and excited to finally be introducing myself to the world as a vocalist and artist. For so long I’ve dreamt of being able to release my own material, with my own messaging, with my own creative sound and style. And it’s finally happening! The song itself is about not accepting the comfort zone, no more suppression of your voice whatever that means to you. No more is a song about overcoming self-doubt but on the flip side looks at what we are currently being shown through media, politics, and social changes. No more lies, no more accepting things that are unacceptable. And from that, there is freedom, which I hope my song celebrates and expresses.
Music to me is therapy, a lifeline, a form of expression.

From alchemist to artist, my journey has been different but it’s finally happening. How’s this for a pitch? Akso Heart is an artist, emerging from the world of science and now flying into the realm of pop, dance, and RnB music.
He spent the majority of his life working in Chemistry and Medicinal Sciences – going all the way up to doing a Ph.D. An experience that also pushed him to explore radio/ podcasting and encouraged him to stand strong in his creativity through music. It wasn’t until his visit to Japan where he met an amazing musical community where he fell in love with the music scene and found the spark that birthed the new musician, Akso Heart.
Now amidst the Pandemic, Akso Heart is releasing his debut single, revisiting the nostalgic UK garage sound that has been a staple in UK music history as he hopes to bring the same nostalgic feeling back into the airwaves.
No More is a single coming from the feeling of being bound and locked away from our true selves. It plays on the feeling of being controlled and having enough! Striving for freedom as our world around us changes.
