It honestly goes without saying at this point, but what a wild ride it has been this year. 2020 has thrown a tonne of pros and cons our way. We’re sure that most people are aware of the more negative aspects of 2020, but in this article, we will be focusing on one of the biggest good points of the year, which of course is the shed-load of new music we have been lucky enough to receive.
To be more specific, today’s article will be looking back on the amazing tunes from independent artists, which we have spilled our praise and love upon, via our unique take on a weekly release radar; New Music Sunday.
Throughout the course of the year, we have been privileged enough to discover a tonne of new artists, and also continue to enjoy artists we have loved before, with New Music Sunday as the driving force that motivates us to leave no stone unturned, in search for that special talent, that only needs that little bit of awareness spreading to spring forward.
While we have presented a batch of new tracks every week, we wanted to take a slightly different approach to this article, seen as we are reaching the very last Sunday of this rather unorthodox year. That being, this article looking back on the music behind New Music Sunday, and reflecting upon the best tracks from independent artists, that have defined both the breakthrough of New Music Sunday, and the year as a whole.
So a huge thanks to Musosoup, where we have discovered tonnes of new music, as well as the artists who have come to us personally, to share their amazing tunes. Thank you to the artists who have been good friends with Indie Top 39, and have continued to dish out their fabulous songs. And the biggest thanks of all to our community, for being the backbone of what we do.
So with everything else addressed, here is our 2020 in review.
