With another week comes another wave of amazing new tracks, with this week’s line-up, in particular, carrying so much talent, that we couldn’t help but add one more track than usual in this case.
Let us dive right into what we feel are the ten favourite tracks of the final full week of June.
Track of the Week
Seeva » Young
Seeva has thoroughly excited us this year, with his sheer level of productivity and consistency when it comes to his musical releases in 2020. So far, the London-based electro-pop extraordinaire had already blown us away with his EP, We Need To Talk – Chapter I, which he released in March of this year. As well as this, his single ‘Clouds’, which he used to tease that EP, had no trouble at all when it came to topping our chart. But fast-forward to late June, and Seeva wastes no time getting the second chapter of his upcoming debut album underway. ‘Young’ shows a side of Seeva that we have rarely seen before, in which he really adds a good amount of attitude and sass to his newest song. As a result, ‘Young’, is one of the most upbeat, energetic, and infectious singles that Seeva has released to date.

Askies » Easy
With their second release this year, and their fifth single overall, Indie four-piece Askies further the development of their style, which packs together all of the cavernous and atmospheric vibes that all good indie bands have. In the case of ‘Easy’, it feels considerably more gritty and slightly heavier than their previous tracks, which serves as a refreshing change of pace, whilst still retaining that core aesthetic. Listeners will quickly find themselves immersed in this track’s epic sound.

Bella Bradley » Pictures
‘Pictures’ is the debut track from Bella Bradley, a singer-songwriter based in West Sussex. This track begins with a gorgeous and heartfelt piano melody, before progressing beautifully into a vast cosmic pop soundscape. Her vocals also add an extra layer of serene grace to the whole experience, and as a result, ‘Pictures’ is a stunning debut. But most importantly, it got her signature style and aesthetic through to us in an instant.

Dutch Criminal Record » Feel Good
Dutch Criminal Record had no trouble establishing their bright, sunny, and highly nostalgic indie sound back when they first started releasing music in 2018. But with their first 2020 release since their wonderful cover of The Smiths’ ‘This Charming Man’ really dies its title justice; ‘Feel Good’ is exactly that in its sound, with its bright guitar melodies, and smooth, flowing rhythm. It is definitely a track that we feel will be easy for listeners to chill to.
‘Feel Good’ really does the name justice, with its bright guitar melodies, and smooth, flowing rhythm.

Llargo & Heidi Vogel » Clouds
With their second single to be released in 2020, the Milano-based ensemble known as Llargo come together with vocalist Heidi Vogel to create something entirely unique. ‘Clouds’ is a purely musical experience, and absolutely oozes with an atmosphere that allows it to have a brilliantly cinematic quality. The way that the sound drifts, much like how an actual cloud would, elevates this song to a whole new level of immersion.

Luan Mei » Yellow
The sophomore release from Brighton-based singer-songwriter Luan Mei, as well as her first of 2020, ‘Yellow’ carries such a hypnotic sound, which feels expertly done for a second single. When we think of this track’s sound, we indeed recognise the very essence of Brighton that has been sewn into the remarkably chilled vibe of ‘Yellow’. We also picked up on just how well this track progresses, and feel that everything we love about the song truly reflects just how quickly Luan Mei is growing.

Ryan Nealon » Mistakes
Following on from his single ‘Ready To Love Again’, which was released earlier this year, ‘Mistakes’ goes for a more downbeat and sombre tone than its predecessor. It goes without saying that the lyrics and the tone of this song as a whole feel genuinely heartfelt, and as a result, really pulls the listener in. It is simultaneously a melancholy and beautiful song, one that we felt was one of Ryan Nealon’s most emotive works to date.

Sam and Sounds » Cloud 9
Considering that Sam and Sound’s musical releases only began this year, we are very impressed with how rapidly his style is developing. ‘Cloud 9’ is his third single, and we strongly believe it is also his best thus far. With an increased depth in the tracks sound, ‘Cloud 9’ surely doesn’t fail to carry an immensely joyful, merry, and triumphant sound. To those who need a pick-me-up anthem, we recommend nothing more than this awesome track.

Sasha Daniel » Hold
After what was adding up to be a five-year hiatus following her 2015 debut EP Compass, Russian-born singer, songwriter, and producer Sasha Daniel returns in 2020 with new music. Her second 2020 release ‘Hold’ stands as a shining representation of Daniel’s multicultural musical influences, and feels like a flowing tide of different instrumentations. The track as a whole runs as smoothly as clockwork, giving this musical experience a gravitational pull.

Sofia » Stranger
Indie three-piece Sofia has been having a musically wild 2020. Being their first year of releasing music, they have really taken advantage of it, and have kept productive throughout. They have already released five singles so far this year, with their newest being ‘Stranger’. The band have been described as one with a sound that will “take up residence in your head as any good old-fashioned tale will’. Thanks to the fact that ‘Stranger’ is by far their most upbeat and engaging listen, we feel that their description is fully justified.
‘Stranger’ is by far the most upbeat and engaging listen from Sofia.
