On one of the warmest weekends of the year thus far, we have been lucky enough to receive a shed-load of awesome new music; most of which carries the same level of warmth.
In this article, we will be covering ten of our favourite tunes that this brilliantly sunny week has had to offer.
Track of the Week »
Circumnavigate » Shy Love
Our track of the week comes from the Oslo hailing dream-pop band Circumnavigate. After having scattered releases across the years spanning from 2013 to 2019, it seems that the four-piece are looking to create their first big project since their 2017 debut album When Worlds Collide.
‘Shy Love’ is the band’s second single release of 2020. And in this current year, Circumnavigate have shown clear signs of deepening their intimate and piano-focused melodies. ‘Shy Love’ manages to make this typical formula a lot more atmospheric by adding more electronic sounds to the composition. What we get as a result is a truly enchanting, and gravitationally immersive masterpiece.

Bevan » Let Me Get To Know You
Bournemouth based pop artist Bevan has been known to have created tracks that take a heavy dose of influence from 70s pop before. But with his latest release ‘Let Me Get to Know You’, the 70’s feeling shines through even more clearly. And yet, Bevan succeeds in giving a track which is a stylistically 70’s, a very current, modernised, and accessible feel.

Christopher Dallman » So High
Christopher Dallman has had an equally extensive and interesting musical journey. Beginning in 2009 as an acoustic singer-songwriter, and has gradually fallen in love with creating more electronic indie-pop tunes the further into his career he went. Dallman’s vocals blend in remarkably with his dreamy new single ‘So High’, and the resulting listen is a truly indulgent experience to behold.

French Alps Tiger » Let Me Down
With their first release coming into play in 2019, French Alps Tiger have released their third outing under the name of ‘Let Me Down’. This new track is easily the most downbeat rhythmically, and it is also the dreamiest in its sound. While the likes of the first two singles felt more traditionally indie-rock, ‘Let Me Down’ does seem to show a bit more of the band’s true stylistic ambition.

Hyde Away » In With The Sharks
‘In With The Sharks’ is the debut single release from Alternative Indie duo Hyde Away, a group who have been said to borrow influence from the likes of Courteeners, Two Door Cinema Club, Catfish & The Bottlemen, and Circa Waves. And in terms of that indie spirit especially, ‘In With The Sharks’ carries a very similar kind of appeal to the aforementioned bands, with a very warm energy that feels very festival-ready.

Joe Russel-Brown » Nausea/Fatigue
After beginning his musical career in 2017 with the debut EP Post-Youth Depression, Joe Russel-Brown definitely had humble beginnings as a singer-songwriter by keeping things minimalist and intimate. Fast-forward to now, and we have the first 2020 release from the artist. While ‘Nausea/Fatigue’ definitely shows the evolution from 2017, it is refreshing to hear that this track still encapsulates that raw and sacred aesthetic.

Matthew Little » Running Away
Kingston Upon Thames based singer-songwriter, and big supporter of Indie Top 39, Matthew Little has released his third single ‘Running Away’. Matthew has had no trouble establishing his accessible, engaging, and intimate pop sound. But with this newest single, the more upbeat rhythm really shines through, making it one of his most enjoyable releases thus far.

NKOS » Lonely Ghost-Self
All four members of the group known as NKOS clearly share a love for edgy and gritty electronica. While the previous two releases, starting from 2019, have made this more than apparent, we definitely feel that ‘Lonely Ghost-Self’ is the most polished of their releases so far, and furthermore an even more glaring example of their unique aesthetic.

Orchard » Universal Sigh
‘Universal Sigh’ is a track that instantly had our attention. We thoroughly love just how ambient, echoing and uplifting the warm melody of this epic sound. It perfectly encapsulates that kind of warmth that would make a track such as this one perfect for any summer walk playlist. We definitely hope there’s more where that came from.
