We arrive at another exciting Sunday, not only for the fact that we are beginning to creep towards a more positive summer than last year, but also because we knew that there would be another fantastic batc of new tunes from independent artists to share with you.
A common theme that we spotted for this week was artists who really put their souls on full display, through intricate melodies, powerful vocal performances, and meaningful lyrics. In this article, we will be sharing with you 9 of our favourite picks.
ALMAHATA » Heart Of Me
Everything that ALMAHATA’s debut single carries, is tied together wonderfully by the genuine passion that went into it.

Beginning with an instantaneously hazey, warm, and gentle sound, they ultimately give way to ALMAHATA’s gorgeous vocals, and gorgeous guitar strings. It felt clear to us pretty quickly, that we were in for an emotive experience that would really resonate with us. A song that lyrically highlights the confusion of loving someone, and being loved back by them, despite knowing that you may have to let them go, everything this track offers is tied together beautifully by the genuine passion that went into it. To have such a heartfelt project as a debut single, really sheds a promising light on ALMAHATA.
Alf Moon » Slowly
‘Slowly’ does fantastically to set a heavenly, immersive, and progressive tone for Alf Moon’s upcoming album.

‘Slowly’ is the first track to tease the upcoming album of Paris-based electronic artist Alf Moon, titled Rêve Paraíso, set to arrive in a few weeks time. Alf Moon’s ambition with this upcoming project was to “explore the multiple facets of electronic music”. And we feel that, with the release of ‘Slowly’, this artist is certainly off to a flying start, when it comes to achieving this aesthetic goal. The gentle and progressive ambience that surrounds this track does brilliantly to create that kind of emotive immersion that truly had us as listeners hooked. We felt our souls completely ride along with the heavenly soundscape. ‘Slowly’ certainly has us incredibly excited for what other beautiful and otherworldly sounds Alf Moon may bring with his upcoming album.
Arin » All I Want 2 See
‘All I Want 2 See’ presents Arin as an exciting upcomer, who knows exactly how to create a current aesthetic.

‘All I Want 2 See’ is the debut single release from the exciting new electro-pop artist hailing from London, who goes by the name of Arin. Hoping to shape up the typical electro-pop tropes up with a combination of mellow synths and energetic drums, we thoroughly enjoyed the uniquely moody feel that ‘All I Want 2 See’ brought to the table. It felt so effortlessly colourful, and felt simultaneously accessible and different, in the overall scope of electronic pop. This is the kind of song that we imagine would accompany a late sunset walk perfectly, thanks to its wonderful blend of groovy and somber vibes. It’s most certainly a debut track that presents Arin as an exciting upcomer, who knows exactly how to create a current aesthetic.
Aunt.t » Weekends Are Made for Two
The debut single from Aunt.t is a shining example that passion and drive is really what makes an incredible tune.

Having not come from a musical background previously, and still grinding through her day job, we are thrilled to see someone like Aunt.t just go full-force into her real passion of creating music. To find brand new amazing artists that ooze with passion towards the art of making music, is exactly what fuels us here at indie top 39. And with everything considered, Aunt.t does incredibly well on this debut single, with an almost poetic vocal style that really engages with us as listeners, we feel that Aunt.t is quite a dark horse indeed, and we cannot wait to see how much further she can go with her true passion.

Ben Denny Mo goes above and beyond with his emotive and powerful vocal performance found on ‘6AM’.

‘6AM’ is the first 2021 single release from the Norfolk-based singer-songwriter Ben Denny Mo. Ever since he was young, Ben Denny Mo has always been incredibly passionate towards making music, as he has always seen the art form as “the only way he’s been able to express himself fully”. Listeners have definitely gotten a great helping of Ben Denny Mo’s raw sense of emotion and passion through the diverse range of moods he brought with his previous releases. However, with ‘6AM’, we are lucky enough to see Ben Denny Mo go above and beyond, when it comes to injecting as much emotion and power into his vocal performance as possible. It was an element of this song that really stole the show for us.
Dominic Romano & Luna Keller » Never In My Dreams
The heavenly soundscape of ‘Never In My Dreams’ sets a perfectly warm backdrop for Dominic Romano and Luna Keller’s amazing vocal harmonies.

Following the release of his newest album, titled Sightline, earlier this year, American singer-songwriter Dominic romano shows no signs of slowing down and calling it a year, as shown by his gorgeous brand new single ‘Never In My Dreams’. With this newest track, we get to see Romano collaborate with another phenomenal song artist, and part of the Indie Top 39 family, Luna Keller. We have to say that these two artists sound absolutely perfect together. The amazing warmth and soft progression of the heavenly soundscape of ‘Never In My Dreams’ truly brings out the best in the vocal harmonies that both Dominic Romano and Luna Keller absolutely champion. For us, this collaboration really felt like a match made in heaven.
Emma River » Flowers in my Hair
‘Flowers in my Hair’ carries a phenomenally emotive and deep atmosphere, in the most authentic manner possible.

‘Flowers in my Hair’ is the first single release of 2021 from Norweigan folk/soul singer-songwriter Emma River, and her fourth single release overall. Being described by many as a singer who truly carries the “voice of an angel”, the utterly gorgeous vocals that Emma River delivers on this new track, fully justifies this. On top of that, the beautifully intimate, warm, and stripped-back acoustic melody sets the stage perfectly for the vocals to be the real focal point here. We were absolutely blown away by how much emotional depth had been added to such a straightforward ballad in regards to its instrumental framework. ‘Flowers in my Hair’ carries a phenomenal atmosphere, in the most authentic manner possible
Mia Madden » I’ll Be Ur Angel
‘I’ll Be Ur Angel’ is incredibly empowering, heavenly, and uplifting, both musically and lyrically.

We’ve really enjoyed the immensely cosmic, yet highly accessible pop sound that Brooklyn artist Mia Madden has effortlessly championed since kicking off her discography in 2020. In particular, we were very big fans of her previous single ‘Treat Me Like U Did’, which continued to push that infectious luminosity. That being said, we are thrilled to have Madden release a brand new single this week, in the form of ‘I’ll Be Ur Angel’. As well as yet another wondrously cosmic and heavenly pop sound, that really does the title justice, this track also sends out a very empowering message, one that “promotes feminine empowerment and positivity through healing”. ‘I’ll Be Ur Angel’ is highly uplifting, both musically and lyrically.
Noralyn » One Of The Few
The melodies found on ‘One Of The Few’ are absolutely spellbinding, and cement the idea that Noralyn’s upcoming album will be a truly incredible experience.

‘One Of The Few’ is the second single release of 2021 from Brisbane-based alternative pop singer-songwriter Noralyn, and also serves as the second teaser track for her upcoming album. While her previous single ‘Education’ gave us a very grounded yet euphoric festival-ready energy, the atmosphere brought to us by ‘One Of The Few’ feels vastly different. This new track offers an incredibly dream-like, whimsical, and fantastical ambience, and thus, is delivered in a much softer instrumental than the likes of her previous track. The melodies that not only this instrumental, but also Noralyn’s vocals bring to ‘One Of The Few’ are absolutely spellbinding. It truly cements the idea that her upcoming album will be a truly incredible experience.
