The brand new release from Italian based two-piece, Kindred Connection, is a beautifully haunting and enchanting tune that, whether you want it to or not, pulls you in and refuses to let go. ‘Some Kind of Dream’ deals with themes of loss and love, but also courage and perseverance. The piano-led tune has a cinematic feel to it, with superb orchestral arrangements and an overall ethereal soundscape that is just incredibly moving and emotional. Recorded and produced in their home studio in the Italian countryside, ‘Some Kind of Dream’ was then sent to London to be professionally mixed and mastered. With their fifth official single, Kindred Connection seem to have found their niche sound. Influenced by everyone from Olafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm to Coldplay and Oasis, there’s a uniqueness to their sound that simply cannot be ignored.

What does the song mean to you?
The song is inspired by the story of the protagonist of the book that Gabriele’s brother is writing. This man falls into despair after the loss of his wife. ‘Some Kind of Dream’ is about love, death and also about rebirth. This song represents for us the hope of being able to give meaning to the unexpected sufferings of life. As painful as loss may be, it is through suffering that most of people are able to rise up even stronger and wiser than before.
Music to us is the most powerful way to connect people with their most intimate and deepest part.
