2020 brought us so many new talented artists who launched their career and today we are thrilled to introduce you to a duo Bvrden who just released their debut single ‘Dangerous’.
The first time we heard the track, we were instantly hooked. It is hard to believe that a band that is just starting can have such an established sound. Especially when everything you hear was created by the talented duo.
Without further ado, let us introduce you to Bvrden!
Congratulations! You just released your very first single ‘Dangerous’. Tell us about your journey up until this important release?
Thank you, really. It means a lot to us.
We’ve been longtime friends since we were probably six years old, we started to mature interest in music early on, and we decided to form our first band at the age of thirteen.
Since then, we played many shows together and in different bands across Rome, and started writing songs, while sharing many experiences that led us to many journeys overseas. Once in London, mostly influenced by the British music culture, we became addicted to songwriting, basically transposing every single ups and downs we both had into music.

BVRDEN
All of our songs have been completely written, arranged and produced by the two of us, recording our ideas in home-based recording studios, and that inspired us to form Bvrden to share our music at its best. ‘Dangerous’ has always been the one we would have wanted to come out first.
What is the story behind ‘Dangerous’? Do you remember what was happening in your life when the song was created?
‘Dangerous’ was born from a melody, a single chorus line that has been craving for months to have a song structure behind it. It got stuck in our heads, and we needed to give it a story and an arrangement. It’s been the blank page to transpose some difficult downfalls that one of us was dealing with at that time, due to a meaningful relationship break up. When the whole song came out, it was exactly what we wanted it to express and sound.
‘Dangerous’ is a very catchy song that I ended up listening to on repeat. Can you tell us more about behind the scenes of recording it? How did you know when the song is finished?
Before heading in studio, we kept working on our demos, constantly adding riffs, bass lines and layers of guitars. The ideas were flowing. We ended up recording hundreds of guitar clips in the studio, and the song finally sounded how we first imagined. It’s clear, it was extremely fun to record it, and very satisfying to see our feelings and visions being transposed into music.
We had to stop at some point, otherwise we would have ran out of time for the vocal recordings. Or they would have probably kicked us out.
How would you describe your sound?
A steady balance between powerful rhythms and pleasant melodies would be a brief way to describe it. We’ve been influenced by many genres and years of playing and listening to music. Going from punk-rock to metal, from pop to melodic hardcore etc.
We crafted our sound mixing all of these elements into uplifting, reflective, and entertaining music.
The vocals on top of an anthemic chorus have the role of completing the sound, expressing emotions and feelings that everyone can relate to.
The name ‘Bvrden’ reflects the weight of the responsibility that we feel on our shoulders daily.
BVRDEN
How did you decide upon the name ‘Bvrden’. What does it mean to you and how does it reflect your music?
The name ‘Bvrden’ came after reflecting on many subjects, even if the word burden could have a strong meaning, it reflects the weight of the responsibility that we feel on our shoulders daily. Doing what you love sometimes can make you face many sacrifices and choices, that can make you feel like you’re carrying a heavy load. It’s exactly from that burden that we take the best of ourselves and our greatest music inspirations so that we can let it become our true strength.
We like to represent Bvrden with the figure of the lotus, which as it sinks its roots in mud and dirt, it ends up growing pure and graceful against all the difficult challenges.
In your press release, it mentions that storytelling is extremely important for you. Where do you find the inspiration for heartfelt lyrics?
From literally everything. Major life experiences, changes, doubts, adversities, and joys. We find inspiration in what we all go through during our own lives, the people that have crossed our paths, the hard lessons we had to face, the questions we had to answer. Everyone can listen to our music while going through the same feelings we shaped in songs like ‘Dangerous’, or recall a memory, or reflect themselves in the shoes of our characters.
We’d love to see everyone singing and sharing these songs as much as we want to perform them, and find relief in them. Hopefully, in the near future.
What does it mean to be starting your music career during such a historic time?
We know that these are very hard times for the music scene. For emerging and independent artists, exactly like us, to be able to properly show their music, specifically when it’s meant to be played live. We are all waiting for the moment when everything would come back to what it’s always been, to go back enjoying concerts, live music of every genre.
But this year has been useful, in some ways.
We had the chance to make the difficult circumstances turn into productive time, writing, recording, producing, almost as much as we had never done.
BVRDEN
We practically wrote an entire album during lockdown.
Where would you like your music career to be in 5 years time?
It’s not an easy question, actually. Five years is a very long time, we know and we have learnt that a lot can happen in this length of time. We would say that we would want to see our creative goals achieved, to be successful and proud of the hard work and dedication to a passion that becomes a growing career.
However, it’s not just that. We want to be able to produce our music, ideas and experiences as much as possible, because it has always been the thing we have always loved the most to do together. The most fun, compelling, exciting, with which we grew up.
Who are your biggest inspirations/idols in the music world?
Well, there have been so many. Several bands and artists that have basically shaped our music tastes and the way we write and play our own music. We’ve been through the teenage moment, with bands such as Blink-182, Sum 41, New Found Glory. The high school period with Bullet For My Valentine, Escape The Fate, Trivium. Followed by a Parkway Drive, Counterparts, The Ghost Inside hardcore phase.
Nowadays we find our biggest inspirations in classic rock ‘n’ roll tunes, as well as powerful and melodic bands, such as Oasis, Foo Fighters and Nirvana.
Do you have a song, that when you hear it, you’d say, ‘I wish I’d written that’?
Again, there are so many to choose from. A spontaneous and natural pick would be ‘Hurricane’ by Thrice, from the album ‘To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere’. Another band that has massively influenced us. A wonderful mixture of inspiring and explosive sounds with a deep meaning and emotional vocals on top of it, all decorated by the dark tone of the song.
But there is no way we can not mention another huge influence for our sounds and lyrics. The song would be ‘The Ballad of Mona Lisa’, by Panic! At The Disco in their golden early years.
What you got planned for 2021?
To keep on releasing music. To keep the wheel spinning and be consistent in delivering ideas and inspirations for our listeners and other songwriters. And, when the time comes, to release the first album.
We’re planning everything ahead, in terms of creative perspectives, production and promotion. This year, with everything that happened, good and bad, has seen the birth of the Bvrden project, while 2021 will be the growth of the band. Trust us, you will surely not be bored next year.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our audience?
Yes, absolutely. ‘Dangerous’ is just the beginning. We have plans, music to keep on working and songs to be released. We couldn’t be more motivated and excited to share what we love with our audience.
While planning, in the next future, to hit the stage together again as Bvrden.
