New entries
This week we have seven new entries. Again, just like last week majority of the artists return to the chart, however we have several brand new names.
The highest new entry comes from one of my favourite artists from the Netherlands. SOFIA DRAGT had several songs on the Indie Top 39 last year, both as a member of a dup LUMINAR and as a solo. I’ve been listening to “Blameless” for a couple of weeks, but I was waiting for it to be available on Spotify. Now the song shoots straight to number five.
My virtual friendship with German singer-songwriter JYLDA began when I was looking for a flat and SAMI SIMON put me in touch with her. “Torrential River” (new at number five) is her second single that is taking my world by storm. I already had a chance to look at the video. I will be having a more detailed chat with JYLDA later this month to introduce the video.
URUGUAY is a duo from Los Angeles who are currently based in New York. “Pretty Pretty Rampage (Death By Girl) was released back in August last year, however few days ago I was going through the messages on Facebook that were filtered out. And one of the members reached out to me and once I listened to the song, I ended up playing it on repeat and it’s new at number thirteen.
The first time I heard ANDREA DI GIOVANNI’s “Forbidden Love” it gave me goosebumps. The song is an LGBTQ anthem that tells the story of two lovers in Russia. Andrea has been releasing one great single after another. Fingers crossed this time his music will be heard by a wider audience.
TOM SPEIGHT returns to the chart with “My Name”. The intro reminds me of a Brazilian supergroup TRIBALISTAS. The song debuts at number twenty-one.
At number twenty-three we witness the return of a Brighton based singer-songwriter SABRINA GUNSTON. “Realisation” is the most mature song she has produced so far and I believe that it is just the beginning of the journey in the chart.
ROSIE CARNEY is one of the artists I had a chance to listen live when she was one of the opening acts at the gig. I remember she was super shy
