Somerset-based indie-pop rocker Lewis Poole just released his brand new single called ‘ALONE 2.0’, and it’s the first glimpse into what the musician has been up to since last year. Keeping things short and sweet, Poole wastes no time in immersing his listener in a rich and vibrant soundscape. His eclectic mix of pop, rock, and what some have labelled emo-synth, are all on full display, and in less than two and a half minutes the artist and his band showcase just what they are all about.
As for the lyrical content, Poole states that “the song’s about being bitter and jealous and exploring those emotions.” I must admit that what first caught my attention when it came to ‘ALONE 2.0’, was the instant authenticity and potency in Poole’s vocal performance. He wears his heart firmly on his sleeve, and really, what more could we at Indie Top 39 ask for?

What does the song mean to you?
I first wrote the song in 2013 when I was a bit fed up, but back then it was a slow acoustic song that I never released. However, it’s always been a song I’ve liked, so last year I wanted to revisit it and I ended up changing it into a fast-paced rock track.
Who do you hope the song resonates with the most?
People who are feeling down and heart broken, but want to let out all that rage and jealousy by singing/screaming along to a fast-paced song in the car.
What would your life be like without music?
I have no idea. Every day I’m doing something related to music, whether it’s writing or promotion, I enjoy every moment of it… so it would probably be boring.
When did you realise that music is what you wanted to do?
I enjoy doing a variety of things, such as; going out, playing video games and browsing the internet, but one thing I discovered was that I’d always return to music – no matter what’s going on in my life. It was that moment when I discovered music was something I wanted to do.
