‘Daydream’ is the brand new single, and follow-up to the highly successful ‘Show Me Your Scars’, from Munich-based singer/songwriter Nana Forest. The track builds up beautifully, before exploding into an incredibly energetic pop song that is simply too irresistible and infectious to ignore. Having said that, ‘Daydream’ also somehow maintains a nostalgic and laid-back feel throughout. It’s rather hard to describe. You just have to hear it for yourself!
Lyrically, Forest explores the idea of escapism through, yup, you guessed it, daydreaming. “Let me daydream away, just for five minutes today, to a different place with you,” she sings. “Those long lost days, back in Byron Bay, how I miss your face I do.” It’s a tune that, with each listen, gets more complex, rich, and intriguing. Nana Forest is a serious talent and we at Indie Top 39 can’t wait to hear what she gets up to next!
‘Daydream’ is an incredible follow-up single! Energetic yet laid-back, upbeat yet nostalgic at the same time. We’re loving Nana Forest right now!

What does the song mean to you?
The meaning behind ‘Daydream’ is that you are free to escape everyday life into a daydream anytime. It’s about reminiscing over cherished memories and embracing them. Our minds are free, and we can replay our best memories whenever we want, just like a movie. This song is all about the bright side of such memories, even though they may be tied to pain.
Which Netflix series or movie would you like your music to be featured in?
I really enjoy watching Emily in Paris and it would be huge if my song got featured in this Netflix series. For sure there are going to be several upcoming episodes where my song ‘Daydream’ would be a perfect fit!
What are your favourite lyrics in the song?
“Damn last night I dreamed of you again, isn’t it funny how this never ends.” Those two lines just popped into my head one day, along with a melody, so I built the whole song around it. I think we’ve all been there – when someone suddenly happens to be in our head – even though we haven’t heard from them in a long time.
Please finish the sentence – Music to me is…
Just as important as sleep, food and hugs!
