Well, have we got a tune for you! ‘Something Is Happening’ is the third release from Swedish-based musician Nikki Nyberg, who performs under the moniker of La Sante, and it’ll take you on a cosmic rollercoaster that you just won’t want to end. Serving as the follow-up to his previous single ‘Stick Around’, which was extremely well received, ‘Something Is Happening’ sees La Sante taking an introspective look at life-changing moments. “Those moments in life…when you realize the gravitas of every moment,” he says. Instrumentally, the track is a beautiful blend of thumping bass, warm, full-bodied drums, and the haziest of guitars, all coming together to create something that is just pure magic. We’re ready La Sante – hit us with an EP or an album.

What does the song mean to you?
‘Something Is Happening’ is my ode to those moments in life that pass by in the blink of an eye, but have major ramifications. Like those moments in life, you know, when you realize the gravitas of every moment, consequence and lingering sense of “now what” and suddenly life itself, like a nineties screensaver, colour in the many nuances that make it a life truly lived.
Tell us about your creative process and how the song came to be?
I kind of started messing around with a couple of jazzy chords on the guitar with a slight phaser effect. I wanted the drums to sound slightly like a locomotive and then come to a sudden halt when the chorus comes.
Which Netflix series or movie would you like your music to be featured in?
I got the title for the song from a line by Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks. It’s a series that has meant a lot to me growing up, and I even had a podcast about it a short while ago. Soooo i guess it’d be pretty cool to be featured in an episode of Twin Peaks. Or anything by David Lynch basically.
