‘Rise Up’ is the banging new single from South African-born, Dutch-based indie musician Cindy-Louise. A relative newcomer on the scene, the talented artist is wasting no time stamping her name on the industry. As a classically trained singer, Cindy-Louise is putting a fresh spin on her chosen genres – and the results are simply mind-blowing. ‘Rise Up’ truly has a bit of everything – thumping beats yet also quiet moments, heavy synths, and the utterly astounding vocals of Cindy-Louise. Singing both the operatic notes and the main melody, the musician brings her signature warmth and passion to the tune, along with a vocal performance that you won’t soon forget! Cindy-Louise lists a wide range of musical influences from bands like Slipknot and Falling In Reverse to James Blunt and Elvis Presley, but it’s her own personal experiences that shape that overall sound. We at Indie Top 39 can’t wait to hear what she does next!
‘Rise Up’ is a straight-up banger of a tune! And Cindy-Louise is definitely one to keep an eye on!

What does the song mean to you?
This song means absolute freedom to me. It is a very positive message in the way that whenever you fall, the people who truly love you will support you and help you get back on your feet and start again. In my own personal case, that is the struggles of always pleasing other people, but at my own expense. Now I show who I truly am and follow passions and new adventures that make me happy, and by doing so I have lost some people in my life, but the ones who stay and support me, I know I can count on.
Who do you hope the song resonates with the most?
I hope that I inspire people of all ages and from all parts of life. To encourage them to do whatever makes them happy and surround themselves with positive energy. Life is a challenge, but it is also beautiful and full of many opportunities.
Which Netflix series or movie would you like your music to be featured in?
My music style is very unique and alternative in the way that it combines operatic and indie rock genres. I think it would resonate best with a series like Euphoria or Riverdale or Sex Education. Also, regarding the message I want to portray – finding yourself and growing is very prominent in these two shows and therefore a very fitting track to be featured and used.
What would you life be like without music?
Very empty. Music is a part of me and I know whatever I am going through or feeling, music is always fitting.
