When a country music legend like Brad Paisley hails you as “Britain’s answer to Taylor Swift” you know you’re doing something right! ‘Bright Red’ is the brand new single from Cornwall based singer/songwriter, Bailey Tomkinson, and serves as a rallying cry for sustainability, equality and fairness. So disturbed was the artist at witnessing the destruction of the Cornish Coastal Headland for the G7 Summit, she decided she couldn’t just sit idly by. “Don’t you ever wonder how anyone else feels?” pleads Tomkinson. “I’m bright red, I’m so incensed.” Blending elements of surf rock, indie pop and even a little country, ‘Bright Red’ allows for Tomkinson’s vocal talents to shine bright, and for her unambiguous message to pierce through. With significant features and airplay already under her belt, the future is incredibly bright for this young, talented songstress.
As a beautiful rallying cry for sustainability and equality, ‘Bright Red’ is an important piece of music for the times that we are currently living in.

What does ‘Bright Red ’ mean to you?
I wrote this song to highlight my fury at the hosts of The G7 summit literally paving over coastal headland to build meeting rooms in which world leaders would sit and talk about sustainability. At the same time as they slept in hotel beds costing 3.5k a night, less than a mile away 1/3 of children are born into poverty. Its a song about injustice, inequality and a lack of faith in those entrusted to formulate solutions to those problems.
Music to me is how I relate to the world around me
