Sandman is the musical project of Canadian based indie rocker Alessandro Antonino Rinella. His brand new release, (and the second single from his upcoming project) ‘Madonna’, is an upbeat, pop-punk tune that’s catchy as hell and just pure fun all round. Inspired by booze-fuelled parties on late summer nights, when anything was possible, Rinella’s storytelling is formidable – and his groove infectious. “I was going crazy tonight, but then I saw ya.” sings Rinella, getting the song underway. “We were dancing in a crowd under clouds of marijuana.” Finding inspiration in a wide range of artists – The Beatles, The All American Rejects, Kanye West to name just a few, Sandman has managed to find his own individual sound. It’s authentic and it’s genuine. And it will stand him in good stead going forward.
‘Madonna’ is the feel-good tune that you need in your life right now. A catchy, upbeat anthem that should feature on your next Party Playlist!’

What does ‘Madonna’ mean to you?
This song to me represents the part of myself that is excited and intrigued with life and all that it throws at me. I loved going to parties (pre-pandemic). When I would be at one it felt like anything could happen at any moment. My drunk best friend could start to throw up. The guy who took too may drugs decided to body slam onto a table. That cute girl from across the room could come up to me we may end up on the bathroom floor together. I guess what it means to me at the end of the day is my youth.
Music to me is the reason I exist

Get to know Sandman
Sandman is a Canadian Alternative Pop singer-songwriter with a genre blending aesthetic, eccentric production, and smooth atmospheric vocals, often compared to other new age artists such as Dominic Fike, Jaden Smith, and Joji. His lyrics are blunt and passionate, telling his own stories based off personal relationships and experiences with love, heartbreak, and self discovery. He mixes this relatable subject matter with well crafted earworm that easily becomes stuck in the listeners head upon first listen.
