UK based indie rockers, Bridges, pay a beautiful homage to one of their biggest influences, Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit, on their aptly titled brand new single, ‘Rabbit’.
Inspired by the likes of Manchester Orchestra, The Gaslight Anthem and of course, Frightened Rabbit, their latest track is the first offering off their upcoming and highly anticipated EP, Empty Galleries. Melancholic yet inviting at the same time, ‘Rabbit’ begins quietly with a gentle guitar and tender, warmly rich vocals provided by lead singer Ethan Proctor. Full-bodied and penetrating drums are introduced and ‘Rabbit’ intricately becomes more and more layered and melodic as it progresses, before reaching its perfectly timed crescendo. The chorus, and haunting vocal performance within, is goosebump inducing. When I close my eyes, I picture ‘Rabbit’ being belted out to a massive audience at an open air festival, with everybody singing along. It just has that presence.
Bridges has paid the perfect tribute to late Frightened Rabbit frontman, Scott Hutchison. ‘Rabbit’ is pure, emotional, full of heart and expertly composed and produced.

Please finish the sentence – Music to us is…
Music is whatever you need it to be. To us, it’s about forming connections and harnessing creativity, as much as escaping and losing yourself in a world someone has created.
A little bit more about Bridges
“While 2020 was a set back for most, Bridges used the time to learn. YouTube channels like ‘Produce like a Pro’ to ‘Musician on a Mission’ helped them grasp the basics of how to record and produce their music from home. After ‘demoing’ a number of songs with help from Ash Scott (Memorist) and Ivan and Frazer Proctor (China Bears), they mixed the whole project with engineer Joe Marsh.
Though almost entirely recorded in bedrooms, the result sounded far more complete than expected. A whole albums worth ready, though not yet wanting to release a full body of work, the band selected a number of these tracks to release through 2021. ‘Rabbit’, a small tribute to Scott Hutchison, is the first of these singles released on the 24th March.
