44 are an Irish band flexing their talents in the alternative indie-pop tune ‘World Gone Wrong’. I completely fell in love with their feel good, somewhat ironic take on the mad year that has been 2020. There’s a slightly futuristic element to this track, or perhaps ‘apocalyptic’ is a better description with the end of the world style lyric delivered in the guise of lush harmonies and melodically driven production. The tuned percussive hits, synth textures and countless melodic earworms which interweave throughout the arrangement all work together to create a wonderfully satisfying indie pop bop for the times.
