You know that feeling when you’ve discovered the best thing ever and you want the whole world to know, but at the same time you want to jealously guard it so that you get to keep the joy all to yourself? Well, that’s kind of how I felt when I listened to this powerful and uplifting track by multi-talented Danish artist Maria Køhnke. Unfortunately for Maria, I think my review skills suffer when I’m this personally invested in a song…but here goes! ‘Don’t Look at Me’ is a track that is filled with 80’s confidence and balladry whilst remaining entirely contemporary and enigmatic. The lyric fills you with a sense of nostalgia whilst the playful and impeccable production creates a kind of whimsical playground for Maria’s distinct and compelling vocals. I’ve been singing the chorus of this song all week and I seriously still cannot get enough. I hope you’ll enjoy discovering this artist’s music as much as I have.
