Angus1 » Champagne
With his third official single, Angus1 elevates his atmospheric and even spiritual aesthetic. He expertly creates this indulgent mood through the use of acoustic guitar, echoing vocals and a palette of other musical effects. From what he has released thus far, ‘Champagne’ might just be his most immersive and enjoyable single yet.
The Brave Faces » In The Dark
The Brave Faces start off very strong with their debut single ‘In The Dark’. They bring forth a modern Brit-rock aesthetic that’s slightly reminiscent of The Amazons from the very get-go. They most certainly have that rock-ready sound, as shown by their first single.
Feiertag & Oli Hannaford » Seasons
These two artists come together on this excellently soulful collaboration. It begins with an ambient mood that allows the listener to immerse, before bursting into an exciting burst of colourful jazz. In this segment especially, it really brings that feel-good energy, that is all the more needed during times like these.
Jacqueline Tucci » Fear
We were blessed with yet another debut single this week, that being from artist Jacqueline Tucci. The first impression we got from ‘Fear’ was kind of like a more raw version of Wolf Alice’s material. We are big fans of the almost collapsing sound of the guitar melody, along with the gritty and nostalgic energy that it provides.
James Walker » Reoccurrence
The combination of electronic music and jazz is something that is becoming more abundant, and we say the more the merrier. But James Walker takes this matrimony one step forward with his newest single ‘Reoccurrence’. In doing so, he creates a much more atmospheric rendition of electronic jazz; one that veers closer to electronic pop. We think that this is a highly memorable track, and James Walker is especially one to keep an eye out for.
Joe James Lewis » Days On You
From the moment this track begins, Joe James Lewis’ ‘Days on You’ brings the warm and soothing vibes. We instantly knew that this track must’ve been created for listeners to just kick back and chill out to. We are also big fans of the slow and steady progression that this track has.
Julia-Sophie » I Left You
Julia-Sophie’s ‘I Left You’ was our single of the week, and it isn’t too difficult to see why that is. With the almost mechanical rhythm and atmospheric progression, this track was easy for us to fall in love with. It is also a track that offers a new angle with each listen, as the lyrics in “I Left You” only hit harder with each replay.
pre kai ro » Glo Up
We feel that the newest single from Egyptian melodic trap artist pre kai ro is arguably one of the most current-sounding tracks on our playlist. We really love the atmospheric coating that covers his trap beats, and his melodic vocals only add to the said atmosphere. We totally love the cold, melancholic and nocturnal mood that this awesome track creates.
Ruby Dutch » Listen to the Rain
Following their 2019 EP Silk, Brighton-based band Ruby Dutch show signs of a new EP, with their latest single ‘Listen to the Rain’. This new track shows a lot of development in Ruby Dutch’s style and composition. It progresses well from a moody and atmospheric steady beat to a dynamic and explosive melody that makes listeners feel as if they are listening to the band live.
